Love at first click...

When I think of the things I love, Adrian, my family, friends and the freedom owning my own business gives me, all come to mind. Recently I have started getting those strong love feels towards Apps as well.

Before you think I’ve gone full tech nerd on you, let me explain…

Cloud technology has allowed me to completely transform my business and gave me the time and space to create a business by DESIGN, not by default.

Introducing efficiency based apps into Alluvia Financial allowed me to systemise our processes, giving us more time and in turn the ability to provide a better service to our clients. Which at the end of the day is what it’s all about.

Our mission is to help our clients create a successful business so they can have the freedom to do the things they love to do.

How have cloud apps helped us better serve our clients?

To explain this, let’s go back to 2010, which I like to call pre cloud.

In 2010 our main focus was to help our clients stay on top of their compliance requirements.

Xero didn’t exist and business owners were using desktop software to manage their finances. 

Our days consisted of driving to clients offices, politely kicking them off their computer so we could reconcile their accounts, process their payroll, lodge the BAS and then finally file all the paperwork away. This might take an hour per visit or sometimes a full day. 

All of our processes were completely manual. And while we were providing our clients with a quality service and keeping the tax man at bay, the time everything took was a huge inhibitor to helping our clients become more successful. 

During this time there were two things that frustrated us the most.

The first was not being able to help our clients if we weren't onsite. If they had a question about anything after we left, we either had to book another time to go and see them or it would have to wait until the next visit. Not my idea of amazing customer service. But unfortunately, having everything stored on their desktop computer, meant there was not other practical alternative. 

The second was the time we would waste driving to and from clients offices and then waiting for the next appointment time before we could help our next client. Often work would take longer than expected so we would have to leave before completing the entire job and then arrange to come back again (more kms on the odometer). Or if the work was completed more quickly than expected, we had to kill time before my next appointment. A total time waster and so inefficient. 

The cloud has removed these frustrations from me COMPLETELY.

Using cloud accounting software (Xero) means we have access to every one of our clients at the click of a button. We no longer need to drive out to our clients offices to help them, saving time and money. This means we can spend more hours working on their file, answering the important questions and helping our businesses clients create the freedom they desire. If they have a question, all they have to do is send us a Slack message, drop us and email or give us a call and we are able to answer it without getting in the car! 

It’s also given us time to meet with our clients regularly to go over their financial goals and keep them on track. 

We now have time to have the important conversations with our clients about the problems they are facing in their business and the best thing, we can work with them to solve them.
